Norm Stanley of The Platinum Group, Realtors has been a real estate agent for two years and loves it! He attended the University of Oklahoma and California State University in Long Beach and works with a diverse range of clients on both the buying and selling side. Norm decided to pursue a career in real estate because it was a combination of all the things he loves to do: working with people, be outside of an office, and have every transaction be different. Norm also loves working with a really good friend. The most challenging part of today’s market, for Norm, is telling a seller that the value of their home has depreciated to a point that it is worth less than what they paid for it. He informs us that the most important thing a first-time homebuyer can do is make sure they qualify for a loan. According to Norm, the housing market in his area has taken a huge hit in value because of all of the short sale and foreclosed homes. To Norm Stanley, an agent should be a good listener, be honest and know who they are working for. Norm does this by writing down a lot of what a client says so he can make sure to know exactly what they want. Norm’s favorite part of real estate is seeing smiles when a client’s home goes under contract.

Norm Stanley relocated to the area 17 years ago and loves the people, the city, the proximity to so much, the weather, the trails, the scenery, going on our 3 hour vacation to Manitou Springs, hiking, CC hockey, Air Force sporting events, Fine Arts Center, downtown, Josh and Johns Ice Cream, and thinks that it is just a great area. He currently lives there with his wife and two children. “My family is great. My wife helps disabled individuals get home support so they do not have to go into a nursing home if possible. My daughter is a freshman in high school and is involved in community services.
